BIM COORDINATOR

The Role

 

Apart from understanding how Revit affects project workflows and the management of projects, the BIM Coordinator’s role is to engage in the practice on two levels:


  • Internally – with staff, projects and senior management
  • Externally – with industry and outsourcing partners

You will have at least 5 years demonstrated experience in a similar role delivering complex architectural models on a BIM platform using advanced REVIT skills and technical knowledge.


This role requires strong communication and engagement with project teams with a view to having a meaningful role in teaching and leading SJB’s BIM expertise.


You will have experience in BIM model management and clash detection.


Responsibilities


  • Coordinating and assisting in BIM project setup within a team.
  • Optimising efficiency and quality of SJB’s design and documentation BIM processes and deliverables.
  • Working closely with SJB’s Technical Documentation Group who assist in content creation.
  • Ensuring BIM coordination and execution plans are produced and maintained for each project.
  • Supporting and auditing projects and flagging non-compliances and assisting with resolution.
  • Assisting in development and up-skilling of staff in all aspects of BIM.
  • Responding to team queries with a ‘can help’ attitude.
  • Ensuring team members have access to the tools (templates and libraries) they need.
  • Monitoring hardware performance to ensure fit for purpose and reporting to Directors.
  • Producing monthly reports for senior management to track and measure BIM performance.
  • Keeping up-to-date with advancements in BIM including add-on software and coordinating adoption and customisation.
  • Upgrading new version release installations and customisation and troubleshooting.
  • Leading meetings to identify project tasks and resolve issues.
  • Preparing BIM budgets for Director review.
  • Raising the profile of BIM within and across the practice/project teams.
  • Communicating latest industry standards and innovation.
  • Continually improving BIM delivery capabilities and contributing to SJB’s QA system improvement initiatives in conjunction with other internal groups.
